Chief Nursing Officer Job Description
The Chief Nursing Officer will oversee the day-to-day activities of the company, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively. Achieves targeted metrics set forth in contractual agreements with payers and ensures quality metrics are attained. Understands, achieves, and educates following regulatory authority guidelines for each practice under his/her authority. The CNO will be responsible for the strategy and execution of all care coordination functions.
Required Skills & Abilities:

Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies related to VBC, care coordination, patient navigation
Extensive knowledge and demonstrated success in quality improvement efforts within challenging patient populations
Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Superior managerial and diplomacy skills
Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills
Education/Discipline Requirements:
Master’s degree required within three years
Bachelor’s degree required. Nursing degree preferred.
Extensive and diversified background with at least 10 years of related experience
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Hires and trains departmental managers, care coordinators, and other operational staff within CKP
Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of staff
Creates and/or modifies policies and SOP’s in line with workflow for each practice under prevue
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely, metric-driven, and constructive
Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
Duties & Responsibilities:
Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics for staff and practice, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates care coordinator procedures
Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations
Ensures work environments are adequate and safe
Oversees care coordinator workflows, IT support, QA activities, and practice relationships, ensuring each is reaching goals set by departmental and company leadership
Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets and cost of sales within each division to achieve financial objectives
Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures between leadership and care coordinators; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale
Establishes parameters for personnel evaluations, recruitment, and advancement within the organization
Improves and documents customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes
Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations, practices, technology, and care coordinators to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes
Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community
Performs other related duties as assigned.
